Time to build? Industry association says home building deals could end soon

As it is with existing homes, individuals who are looking to build a new home are seeing prices that have not been around for more than five years. Low interest rates, depressed demand and a surplus of inventory have led to a major drop in residential prices. However, according to the Lee Building Industry Association, there are economic headwinds showing that consumers looking for good deals should get off the fence sooner rather than later.

Builder incorporates green principles into homes

Nils Richter grew up in a green household in Germany, learning the ways of environmental responsibility. "I might have been the first kid to eat organic in a 50-mile radius of where I grew up in the 1970s," he said. "My parents had a catalytic converter on the car when it was hard to even find unleaded fuel."

Now Richter is a contractor in Fort Myers and he has a chance to incorporate green principles in the houses and commercial buildings put up by his company, CENTRIC Construction & Management.

Our Norway Friends, Kari and Arne, Tell Their HomeBuilding Story

TO: Aubuchon Homes
ATTN: Gary Aubuchon

February 27th, 2008

Our home country Norway is the most wonderful place on earth, but not always that wonderful during wintertime which can be cold, wet, and windy. We have therefore for several years planned to buy a house in a warmer country. We have considered Italy, Spain, and France where Norwegians normally would buy a winter or retirement house, but we found it to be too cold in the periods where we wanted to be there. Also the crime rate is very high and increasing in the areas that are most lucrative.

Peter and Shari Molin Describe Their Homebuilding Experience

Dear Mr. Aubuchon,

Testimonial from Tim and Amy Marks

Just a letter to say THANKS! to the entire Aubuchon team and all the contractors.
When we decided to build our home we had a lot of people tell us things like, "oh man you are in for a nightmare of an experience" or "the company we just built with was terrible". Since this was our first time building we were wondering if we were going to have the same comments by the end of the project.
