The winter season is upon us and the Yacht Club Community Park has many exciting things planned to entertain the entire family.
On Wednesday, we will celebrate our monthly Sunset Celebration on the Pier. Come celebrate the New Year with live music, and food and drink specials at KC's Riverstop while enjoying Southwest Florida's beautiful sunsets.
Several vendors will be selling their arts and crafts, jewelry and gift items. This event is free to the public.
Over the holiday school break, kids can join the Yacht Club Adventure Camp.
Kids can participate in kayaking, tennis, fishing, swimming, beach tennis and much more. The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. Advance registration is required by calling 574-0806.
The yacht club will once again be offering beginning saltwater fishing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26.
This class is designed for the new and novice angler, and will cover all the basics of fishing from boat and land. Topics include rod and reel selection, line, leader and hook selection, rigging, casting, and live and artificial baits.
The cost is $30 for residents or $33 for nonresidents and requires advance registration.
Do you enjoy kayaking and fishing where big boats can't get to? If so, then maybe you should try kayak fishing.
This course will teach you about pre launch, safety on the water, fishing techniques and cast netting from a kayak. There are a total of four class sessions, starting each Saturday from Jan.. 5-26. Class times are 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The cost is $140 for residents or $150 for nonresidents.
Calling all new boaters to Southwest Florida. The Yacht Club will be offering a Recreational Boating Seminar for new boaters to Florida from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 24.
Topics will include identifying the local waterways, boat lifts, locks and ramp etiquette, as well as maintenance and protection of your boat.
The cost is $15 for residents or $17 for non-residents.
If you love to dance and want to learn how to swing/ballroom dance, then our swing/ballroom dance lessons may be perfect for you.
This class is enjoyed by experts and newcomers alike The course includes four class sessions that will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays from Jan. 7 through Jan. 28.
The cost is $45 for residents or $49 for nonresidents.
If you and your family like magic then we have just the show for you! On Friday, Feb. 1, the Cape Coral Yacht Club will host a magnificent magic show.
It's fun, it's hands-on and it's magical.
The show begins at 7 p.m. but the doors open at 6 for children's crafts and activities. Please purchase tickets in advance. The cost is $5 per person.
Mark your calendars for the upcoming Miami Boat Show bus trip on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and let us do the driving for you.
