Citing his work on complex infrastructure legislation during the 2008 legislative session, the Florida Engineering Society recently honored state Rep. Gary Aubuchon, R-Cape Coral, as “Legislator of the Year.”
The annual award recognizes legislators who understand the importance of the engineering profession in the protection of the health and welfare of the citizens of Florida.
In presenting the award on behalf of the society, executive director Frank Rudd said, “Infrastructure funding is one of the most complex issues the Legislature faces. For Representative Aubuchon to be one of the lead legislators on this issue as a first-term legislator is amazing and shows he understands the issue and knows it can serve as an economic stimulus for our state. It is our privilege to present our highest honor to Representative Aubuchon.”
